Context
As part of a renovation project in Sherbrooke, a homeowner decided to replace the stamped concrete surrounding his swimming pool.
Problem
Although aesthetically pleasing at the outset, concrete has greatly deteriorated over the years. It was difficult to maintain, unsafe and no longer aesthetically pleasing.
Solution: PolyQuartz
After examining several options, the owner decided on PolyQuartz for the pool surround. PolyQuartz is a floor covering composed of a polyurethane binder and 2-3 mm natural quartz granules. It is known for its durability, weather resistance and non-slip texture. What’s more, PolyQuartz can be applied in such a way as to ensure perfect levelling, thus avoiding problems of water accumulation.
Conclusion
Replacing stamped concrete with PolyQuartz was a great success. Not only is the new pool contour aesthetically more appealing, it’s also much safer thanks to its non-slip surface. In addition, the levelling problem has been solved, eliminating areas of water accumulation. The owner is very pleased with the result and feels safer using his pool.
